About
Amanda and Jenna are tired of women being killed and aren’t afraid to call out toxic masculinity when they see it.
Amanda Kippert
Amanda Kippert is an award-winning journalist, domestic violence advocate and editorial director of the national nonprofit DomesticShelters.org where 2 million people a year seek help and information regarding domestic violence. She has spent the last eight years covering domestic violence issues, including a year-long investigative piece for the HuffPost called "A Forgotten Crisis” about domestic violence in the military, which was nominated for a New York Deadline Club award in 2020. A Midwest native, she now lives somewhere in the desert with her husband, two kiddos, two dogs and two cats. She spends her free time writing a book (so cliché), doing yoga to destress from the daily horrors of the world, making margaritas when that doesn’t work and wishing her best friend Jenna would trade in the freezing Midwest for sunshine already.
Jenna Brandl
Jenna Brandl hasn’t really won any awards (aside from second place in an internet surfing competition during a state Science Olympiad in high school thankyouverymuch) or done much professional work in regard to the content of this podcast. She is however a long-time activist and advocate for women’s rights, a clinic escort/volunteer, a survivor of toxic bullshit, and a fearlessly opinionated funny person. Still a Midwest native, she is a divorced mom of two kids, five if you count her adorable cats as children, which she does. She works as a User Experience Designer for the daily grind. Her pretend list of free time activities includes reading bestsellers, woodworking and solving world hunger. Her actual free time is mostly watching shitty horror movies, napping or scrolling through Tik-Tok for hours on end.
